Hi! My name is Lael and I am a writer, a teacher, a mother. I write essays, publish a Substack, and am working on a novel. I used to do standup comedy, but that dream was at odds with my desire to be in bed each night by 8:45 PM.

I have my Master's of Teaching in English Education and have taught writing at the high school and college level.

I live in Brooklyn with my family. We whiz around town on our electric cargo bike, which makes me feel like a real Scandinavian bitch.
